The dominant impression I got watching this movie was of how extraordinarily stupid the people in it were. The comely actress playing the female lead turned in the most brainless performance I've seen since Bo Derek's in "Tarzan, Lord of the Apes" (where even her very many and very lengthy nude scenes couldn't assuage the pain inflicted by her performance,..but I digress..). The male lead was not much brighter; he constantly called up the image of a six watt bulb. Ditto for all the supporting performers. The only character with anything resembling brains was the Native American anthropologist Johnny Longbow (Long Bone? Strongbow? I could never really get it straight). The dignity and presence he mustered when he recited his recipe for authentic Indian stew was a breath of fresh air in this stale, stale film.
